About Us
We are Occulta, a custom tattoo studio specialising in blackwork and gothic-inspired tattooing. We are the only studio in Edinburgh dedicated exclusively to this style of work.
We place great importance on individuality and collaboration, working closely with each client to create fully custom tattoos that reflect their ideas, identity, and how the design sits on the body. Every piece is carefully considered, from concept to placement, with a focus on quality and longevity. We pride ourselves on our meticulous hygiene practices making sure the studio is safe for everyone who is welcomed through our doors.
Occulta is owned and run by tattoo artists Liz Minelli and Alisha Szkudro, who share a considered, client-focused approach to bespoke tattooing.

Liz Minelli specialises in large-scale blackwork and dark, symbolic compositions. Her work is shaped by bold structure, intricate detail, and a freehand approach that allows each piece to move naturally with the body.
As the founder of Occulta, she cares deeply about both the quality of the work and the experience behind it, creating a space built on professionalism, respect, and genuine attention to each client.
Alisha Szkudro
Alisha’s work is rooted in precision, detail, and a love for ornamental design. Her style blends gothic influence with strong blackwork, creating pieces that feel both elegant and intentional.
Alongside her craft, she brings warmth and professionalism to the studio, helping clients feel at ease throughout the process.

All appointments at Occulta are booked in advance. We work by appointment only to ensure each project receives the time, preparation, and attention it deserves.
We offer free consultations, either in person at the studio or via video call for clients travelling from further away. This allows us to discuss your ideas, placement, scale, and overall vision before securing your booking.
